What is PTO?

Avilla PTO is a nonprofit, volunteer-based organization. Its membership includes all parents, legal guardians and staff at Avilla R-13 School.

What does PTO do?

Avilla PTO provides financial assistance to teachers and their classrooms, holds fundraisers for supplemental educational experiences, and supports school/family social interaction. Our efforts serve to enhance and maximize the education of every child while aiding them in achieving their highest potential.

Our mission is to promote open and positive communication and understanding between parents and staff of the Avilla R-13 school. It is our belief that the team effort of a parent teacher organization offers the best possible learning environment for our children.

How do I join?

Interested parents and staff can become a PTO member during open house in August or they can sign up with one of our PTO officers. Membership runs from August 1 -July 31 and dues are $7.

PTO holds monthly meetings at the school on the 1^st Wednesday of the month at 5:30pm. If there is a cancelation we will notify members immediately via text (if applicable), email and social media.

The following dates are scheduled meetings @5:30pm:

• October 2                          - May 7

• December 4                      - July TBA
• January 8
• February 5

• September 12- T-shirt Orders Due
• October 25- Fall Harvest Festival//Trunk or Treat 5:30-8:00pm
• December 20 – Milk + Cookies with Santa- during school hours
• March 10-14- Book Fair Hours TBA
• March 12- Games with Grandparents//Book Fair 5-7:00pm
• April 5 - Spring Carnival 4-7:00pm
• April 17- Student Easter Egg hunt- during school hours
• May 5-9- Teacher Appreciation Week - don’t forget to show your support for our teachers!
